my friend somehow conjured pairs of free tickets XD will be going to universeum for some tropical rainforest weather tmr! and i really miss their big aquarium with de Nemos~~~~ then concert hall on tuesday, will get de tickets for 24th october's beethoven's 7th then!

just talked to mom for de first time in 3wks++ T.T ma i miss u oso la~ i lost appetite and lost 2kg already since coming back T.T

only 3 more months to go... i'll miss de classes in chalmers definitely... and those boring (XD) and normal and party crazy (XD) classmates who somehow get along nicely T.T

2 weeks into this term - a review

laugh die me.... hahaha...
in the modern manufacturing processes course, part design takes up a big portion in de course literature. and when they talk about CAD:

"it may be off by wotever weirdo scale you drew it in",
"if you have lines on top of lines, or other crap in your drawing, it will make it difficult...",
"if you draw a circle that is 5.3 inch, but then put a dimension on it that says it is 5.0 inch...",
i cannot tahan and thought i better dedicate a post to this ^^ thought those at the production floor might have saved a lot of frowns had i done this course earlier ^^ aw~ how many crapy parts had i designed~~~ XD without even knowing exactly how they bend de plates, which kind of welding they use, how they machine parts... XP de thing is, i'm really having some fun with this subject XD 只有变态的人才会喜欢工程~~~

the imaging course on de other hand is something new that i've never encounter before. equally interesting as i slowly find my way in the thick mist, just like the research project about the Nobel price winning "Giant Magneto Resistance" ^^ somehow neuroscience turns up in that course, i hav no intention of becoming Dr.程至美 wotsoever XD

it's a good blend of two very different paths to choose, lying ahead of me i guess :) seems like the trend will continue nxt term, with "materials in medicine" and "materials for light weight design" to go ^^

i guess it's de 4th time i've watched this series... in fact it's de only one i had watched in quite a while... been using it to burn my spirit since last yr. sweden is too cold. when one sees how hard chiaki-senpai studies, one will feel guilty not to bury oneself in books; when one sees how hard nodame tries to go to europe, one will feel guilty if one doesnt fully utilize one's time in europe; when they eat pasta, i cook pasta; when they eat canned food, i have my can opener ready.

there are something else to it, but too many i cant list them all out ^^ some real influences and some silly ones, like the canned food XD nah, not that i'm really that fanatic about it, it just once stimulated my appetite for canned corned beef.

this is my fav scene out of de series, piano concerto becomes piano duet that part :) totally unstealth the joy of jamming, of playing basketball, futsal, drums, wotever group assignment u like. de simple joy of playing a part in something with somebody... if you are not interested, then just watch lengzai lenglui also can~

a bit about ramadan

totally ORZ to those fasting muslims in gothenburg... due to the geographic location of this city, i heard they had to fast 17hrs at the very beginning of bulan ramadan... some 3-5 minutes less everyday as winter draws closer. i wonder if they'll have to fast 24hrs a day thru the whole ramadan month if they live on the north/south pole when the sun doesnt set ="=

a beautiful egyptian lady offered me a kind of egyptian delicacy made out of dates. (i was with her when she buka puasa) it's kinda like our tam boon pia, only a bit harder and drier, and with date paste instead of bean paste in de middle. yummy :)

tht just reminds me that the middle east market is going to get into festive mood very soon ^^

now my footie's got a new friend ^^ still remember the middle east flea market from last yr? those stalls that sells absolute junks and absolutely everything? i went back to de same stall at the corner where i got the footie. the old man doesnt sell football anymore. and there was this orange thing lying on top of a pile of something else.

"hur mycket?" i asked.
"tjugo" he answered.
"tjugo?!" i was a bit shocked to hear de price.
he took a new ball out from underneath one of the boards where all his things lie, and nodded, "det nya, tjugo."
i nodded back, and paid 20kr for this ball. RM10?! goodness... do we still get RM10 basketballs in malaysia? should have expected that since de football was only 30kr as well ^^

well, everything sold here is at least half de price of things outside. in de case of this basketball, it's probably 1/10th... but still shoppers are 95% middle eastians. aik yean once told me tht place feels so dodgy she dare not go there by herself XD guess it's just perceptions, bet a chinese market will also give similar feelings to those non-chinese XP

thought i might as well go to Angered since it is in de same direction. wanted to go there since last academic yr but din hav enough drive to do it :P de attraction? chinese books in Angered Library ^^ Angered is a very diversed suburb with a mix of many nationalities.

turns out that the collection is not that huge after all. there's only one book that i'm interested in. took it ofcoz. but their english book collection is much more interesting than the city library's :D and no queue! da Vinci's code, to kill a mocking bird, bridget jones diary... they should be hotties in any library, but just lying lazily on de shelves in this one ^^ cool~ and so i took another book that i've been waiting for since last academic yr, happy~

my little plants

i had 3 plants before going home in summer. i'm not sure if i did or did not care about them though XD despite that, and having to cope with this dark little room without much sun, they seemed happy enough :) then it came summer, and i threw them outdoor, 天生天养 for 3 months as i went disappearing. (told u i'm not sure if i care XD) i did leave them in good hands when i went to kiruna and denmark tho. but 3 months could really keep any hand busy...

when i came back, de baby xmas tree is gone... as in no where to be seen. funny... shame, as it was my favourite, and was growing quickly... and the bloke who gave it to me said it shall survive even if i just leave it in the garden...

one of the other two is dying. i wonder if it is already dead. but i'm still giving it water, since there's still some green. that's de least i could do, we shall observe later...

anyway, there's this last one that survived totally. and even gained some height :D tough little thing~ and it shall spend another misarable year in this room along with that new mozart-pink flower plant ^^ that plant is really blooming 妖艳ly now XD

i wonder wot would a primary teacher say if one would pass this up as a composition...

I am so excited right now. I know lah not my baby but still our first baby in the group! Just now was jumping around my office like siao. I'm really really happy for her!

Oooh she replied my sms:

I m good. I stil do caesarian. Bcoz contraction start early i do early. Name havent decide...

I'm really proud of her... It is not easy to give birth, and it will be some very difficult but rewarding years ahead of her... hug hug hug hugs!!!

am having swedish language courses, given in SKF's building... i mean why there?... would really like to work for SKF for my thesis tho... anyway, there's currently a big language mix up in my head... cool tho, just like those ppl who take night language courses in hongkong soap operahs~ 17:30-20:00 classes? i'll die when winter comes...

the aim of this year is to fulfill unfinished business from de last academic year ^^
unfinished business list:

got de first one done today ^^ it is in Majorna, where june's Marten lives~ for those two museums listed up there, under 26 = free of charge ^^ aye aye, my life shall be over after 26 XD

there's an aquarium, not huge but depicts marine lifes from streams, lakes to baltic and north sea. science fact: baltic sea has half salty half fresh water coz it's fenced away from the atlantic by the scandinavia peninsular. hence, only very limited species of fishes can live there. and these fishes are extremely sensitive to polutions...

there's a section called "livet ombord" which i guess translates into "the live onboard". in a tiny space, a stuffed man with broad shoulders is supporting his head with his left hand, and writing a letter under a dim light with his right. beside him, lies a tiny wooden double decker. i wonder how he shall fit into his bed... ppl seeking the borderless sea by confining themselves with shackles in the shape of a boat... ooi ooi~ i'm really getting phylosophical... XD i feel coz i once dreamt, and still dream to work on a cruiser... they would need engineers wont they? XD but it's just another dream i wont make happen, like many other impractical dreams of mine XD

that is my course compendium for... well... i'm sure you can read... modern manufacturing processes. it's two bloody inches thick! how can i possibly finish it within 7 weeks? nvm, if i cant then no one else can XD

those 2 acorns, i picked them up on my way walking home :) de weather is so nice~ 17 degrees day, can even hang de laundries outdoor in de sun :) i went to chalmers in de name of buying de compendium but with the actual intention to ease my itch in the legs (football la) :P but they are doing something with the floor in the hall... so walked home to quench the leg itch :P

sweden... is... beautiful... chalmers freshies popping up with de level 0 cardboard around their necks again ^^ my favourite cemetry on the hill of redbergsplatsen is covered with flowers... apple trees, pear trees, acorn trees, berry trees are all bearing fruits... bike riders are showing off their stunts... and i'm trying to re-adapt to switches that turns on when u press the upper part, to left-hand-drive traffic, and to svenska.

kena hentam by karin popo, coz i din tell her i was coming back yesterday. she was upset that she couldnt make me a welcoming dinner... 未免太客气了吧。。。XD anyway, coffee with her this afternoon. it's fun that we shall share the same passion in travelling and had our conversation at either sides of an atlas ^^ as usual, listening to a 85-yr-old will just make life seems so tranquil... no single thing is important enough in an 85 years long story :)

she loves de dry fruits i brought from thailand 蓉儿的四干果、四蜜饯 ^^ she said once started cannot stop eating ^^ and also tried de cameronian golden black already, said 75 packs will last until de day she dies... but most happy when she's got a letter from a little friend among all de bills that flood her postbox, haha... sigh~ 张艺谋的“有朋自远方来，不亦乐乎”，即使不亲到也无妨呀~ and mom, dad, she's so eager to meet you ^^

oh, talking about letters... i've got one that says i'm admitted to the language school which started 2 weeks ago... which means i've missed 4 lessons... damn... will go and check it out nxt monday. hope i'll be able to catch up. de rest are really bills XD

june proposed to find a beach somewhere this wkend. touched~~ coz she would need to come back from s'pore to let that happen. sorry ah, my weekends really need to pre-book de la :P sometimes even terpaksa selectively ffk... like aikyean says, i am "hot" ppl ma XD i think she also very hot at the moment la... havnt hear from her since she's back to m'sia. cant imagine slotting another trip to kedah in the remaining week + 1 day... so better see her in gothenburg :P 好像因为时间看来不多，所以才抢着要见，如果真的停下脚来，只怕大家都因为来日方长，反而从来不见了。人类的大脑真可爱~mom said to me when i was coming back from australia 2.5 yrs ago"you wont have so much time to meet up with friends anymore..." and so i started to tick "yes" on RSVPs by default. hell knows when will the nxt time be.

consuming all the "malaysian made" that can be easily get while will be easily missed. ppl whom i love deeply and not as deeply XD, all kinds of food that i love deeply and not as deeply also XD, all kinds of entertainments (chinese books!!! movies!!! sports on tv!!! songs on radio!!! my bass!!! ... waaaak!). no beaches and karaokes this time around tho...

《行者无疆》

终于看完了。

很难消化的一本书，一天最多也只能囫囵吞下80页左右。难得看完了也会有第一次看完金庸大长篇的那种惆怅感。。。又一份精神粮食被消耗了。

《行者无疆》谈的不是旅行，是旅途中猎取到的文化心得、社会心得。余秋雨先生论事用词自信，立场明确武断，但倒是有半数的论点，我无法认同:P 认不认同并不重要，尤其我一个没名没姓的人不认同更无关痛痒，至少这本书是一个“谈话”的对象。谈的话题太冷，在我的日常生活中，只有极少数的人觉得这是一回事，只好请教大师，听大师谈谈，然后自己再和自己谈。至于认同的那一半，又恰好说到了心坎里去。很多自己摸索出来，没有人在旁引路的紊乱想法，一加在这本书里得到引证，得到整理，如何能不爱不释手？:)

看完，谈话的对象又没有了，所以惆怅。

F1 is on a 3 weeks vacation, no sweat~ community shield's picking up where F1's left off, woohoo~ and hav i forget to mention about the big event? thought of copy pasting some words about de olympics i wrote somewhere else~ but no point right? hehe...

ok, i'll write something else about it~ my favourite part of the opening ceremony was definitely de magic scroll ^^ looks like zhang yimou's work~ the way they draw clouds onto the piece of parchment with human movements was shear brilliance!

giv you a dark humour for a change :P to imagine someone blowing the stadium up XD with all the Bushes and Sarkozys and Wenjiabaos and Putins and that guy from Iran hugging each other sharing their last moments X_X

ally from favco is also unwillingly accepting, and can already started to joke about it... freely voicing out every boring day, voicing out her original intention to work in KL... *苦笑*
mom is pressured by other family members to retire from her post as a human soul engineer (teacher that is...), to help dad.
eric from melbourne uni is already bearing it for 3 years, and even expanding to build a factory of his own by now! one positive outcome? hehe....
and i'm de lucky hopeless one, wakaka... in terms of inheriting family business that is.

whew... life is like that la~ just live it full on our own interpretation and capacity. 既来之，则安之 ;)

after a busy week on wheels, thought it would finally be a quiet weekend after friday night badminton/movie with de seremban ppl was cancelled. turns out to be the very opposite O_O friday night itself was spent drawing a second draft of a part of a project WITH PENCIL ^^ hehe, no matter computer aided or casual art, i guess i'm binded together with drawings.

the first draft was rejected, so i can probably post it here, wakaka... de 2nd draft is not my idea, that's y i treat it like anak tiri without much confidence la, bro coln! with the "client" telling me wot to draw, it's no longer recreational and my origin ma :P but i'm seeing it from another perspective now, so, relax :P

then comes leasure saturday. leasure saturday? not really. supposed to meet up with two buddies for dinner. no, supposed to hav a futsal game in subang.... no... it finally turned out that i went to ah teng's wedding dinner O_O jc told me about it 7 hrs before the dinner starts, coz my old malaysian number was gone with the iberian peninsula (where spain is) wind... teng was my project partner thru out the best part of uni life!

after spending de afternoon doing some paperwork in dad's shop, it was de wedding in kl. and then the after party... put together siew teng's and eric's (no, not teng's husband, another uni kaki) faces, i could automatically imbas kembali empty vodka bottles and half dead bodies lying across each other on de floor, with white bubbles dripping down the side of the lips O_O *hitting my head twice* hey~ shake it off! it's a wedding night!


missed ah boon's wedding in sweden, so this was the first wedding of a really close friend ;) but still missed the morning part with all the traditional things... teng and her husband bryan are both sporting enough and it makes good fun ^^ bottles were still left lying empty at the after party at the end of the day, but ppl are still standing up right and dancing XD oh yeah, we went clubbing. just like old times in melbourne :) friends that i've never seen since graduation (met teng in melbourne last year tho). such a coincidence that four of the old MECH ENG kaki are in KL ^^ might not see them for a long long time to come.



and then teng joined us, the mech eng four! huhuhu~


another 饭局 tonight... seriously... sigh... better finish up de 3rd sketch now... can life be a bit less hectic, please?

but now at least can draw and steal some half an hour here and there for de bass and well, to blog... a bit difficult to concentrate in reading tho... found a book "行者无疆" among dad's collection. 余秋雨先生wrote about his 15 years road trip. the closure was his experience in Arctic. Rovaniemi in Finland in his case. the way they took it made me laugh XD ok, i'm de hard core one... and after 15 years, he must be damn tired already. might write more on this book after i finish it coz this guy oso 为了搞人文而走的 ^^ 而且还是人文大师，该临一下帖，借一下鉴 :) too bad this book doesnt include his experience in middle east.自己没办法去，看别人的经历也过瘾 :)

ah, a small sports update. missed many GPs this season T.T hopefully can at least make it to see them cross the finish line tonight. kimi is seriously not doing so well...
