gan cheong again

in chalmers, we sort of have a cycle of 5 relaxing weeks and then 3 weeks of total gan cheong... thanks to the 5 lazy weeks, de 3 gan cheong ones can be really stressful >.< ponteng to do assignments, praying for presentations to be scheduled later, and wondering when shall one start studying for exams >.<

anyway, the word "enjoy" never leave my hedonistic life :P
after south gate yarra river bank in melbourne, it's hard to find another study spot that can better it. but there's one just around the corner, Kyrkan in chalmers student union house ^^

Kyrkan is ofcoz swedish, it means church. it's a common place with loads of sofas, armchairs and discussion tables for students to work or hangout. told LL that it kinda resembles the Gryffindor common room in Harry Potter and she requested for pics. so here they come ^^

Kyrkan from my favourite armchair

looks cosy? ^^

the view from my favourite armchair

the scenery outside de window beside my favourite arm chair. obviously taken in a rainny day. when the weather is good, glorious sunshines pours into this side of the hall thru the dropdown window. one can enjoy an afternoon nap under de warmth of the sun like a neko-chan on its favourite chair in the house ^^

Kyrkan from my favourite armchair after sunset

another look at it after sunset. yes, on the same chair, see i work long hours ^^ and de bloke facing de camera is really good looking... :P

zorro and a bit about school

thought he deserves some mentioning :P
zorro, my landlady's little companion, a 1-yr-old pure white toy poodle :)
(not quite the same as Rainbow Frank... if one recognise de name...)

as oppose to being nothing more than a stranger to gobby, de dog i grew up with; zorro and i have been in pretty good terms ever since de first time we met ^^

he's an active little devil... can walk and run for an hour and is still full of energy... thus 85-yr-old karin popo cant always handle him and i got the chance to walk him every now and then. walking him is a joyous thing to do. ppl on the streets will smile at you and some will stop to talk :) but i dont really enjoy it when he licks my face as he does in the pic :P

my little friend zorro

he visits my room once in a while. likes to scratch my pants when i do the dishes outside at de laundry room. guess i'm de only living tissue in the house who is childish enough to play silly games with him :P

ok, that is zorro. as for school, Polymers and Tailored Materials are the chosen subjects. i practically knew nothing about polymers except for things they labelled as "background" in the fist lecture, takutnya... as for TM, it's a really fun subject ^^ with nanotechs, nobel prize winning topics, and materials at the developing frontiers. love electives ^^

relationship between the master students are developing with time. we kinda dont care about the Erasmus exchange students as much now, since some of them left us last xmas.... T.T but the new Erasmus ppl from all around europe still brings a lot of spice into our lectures ^^ they are kinda agressive to lecturers, lol ^^

having lisa (yes, lisa again ^^) and anders as groupmates for the polymers course this quarter. we started our discussion on Fat Tuesday, a traditional swedish festival. Semlor were on our table after de discussion. a kind of sweetened almond paste on bread, with a lot of cream stuffed in between. i mean it when i said a lot, i was frowning at it while finishing all... lisa left most of hers untouched.

met anders at redbergplatsen this morning, where i switch from bus to tram to chalmers. realised that we've been living so close by and yet never meet each other for the first 6 months. that's probably because he usually cycles to school when the weather is not threatening. but it's still unbelievable since we have de same classes and hence leave home at roughly the same time... and gothenburg's weather is life threatening most of the time :P

funny enough, we met again at olskrokstorget on the way home =.= he had an interview while i was staying back to do some work. and we both practise the weird liking of switching trams in redbergplatsen in the morning and olskrokstorget in the afternoon... life is full of unimportant wonders...

a month had passed since term started. there's a lot to catch up if i'm going to write about school :P sorry for always posting nonsense and the lack of updates :P but it's really getting long and i'll leave this post as it is now :P

CHARM career fair

career week in chalmers (really big apparently, karin popo told me it was on tv...). getting a job here, parttime or fulltime, seems to be mycket hard! wish to do my thesis work in another country, or even outside gothenburg is good enough, or simply getting one is fine...

many biggies came, including a few of favco's suppliers and clients... SKF, ABB, Siemens, Maersk, Shell... and when a bored manager from Aker Kvaerner heard that i had a friend who'd been to a conference in stavanger (the city of oil and gas in norway where this company is based...), he was so happy and conjoured a citybook out of thin air and started to talk about the place for 15mins... out of all of that, the only two pieces of info i managed to absorb was that the pay for fresh grad engineers in norway is something more than RM20000 a month... 0_0 10 fold of msian's... and the 2nd being that unemployment rate in norway is 1%... sounds more like the number of ppl who doesnt feel like working... no wonder the norwegian guys in my class are always partying...

btw, happy belated valentine's :) although it's still 14/2 here.
