geez, 过去这三天真感谢食神的眷顾呀~看来又得胖了一公斤，呵呵~

何不趁此机会回顾一下在日本第一个星期，咱俩吃喝方面的战绩呢？since anon was wondering about sakes and ally's missing 那让人感叹的“晴耕雨读”, lets start right there -- where the red lantern leads~ ^_^


yummy happy hippy hoppy~ which bedi later refer to as a kind of chuhai, a mix of sochu with other drinks. i then tried one with olong tea and nearly killed myself with it XD

both are pretty good sakes recommended by the chinese student waiter working in the izakaya :)

as for beers, the sapporo yebisu draft was awesome, asahi was good, so was kirin tanrei. always nice with a bowl of oden 黑轮/关东煮 ^_^

work has been unbelievably busy and my schedule is already packed till mid january. that's unusual by hydrexia's standard but i'm totally enjoying it~

两天前被讲得不好意思，烘了一个oreo cheese cake，又容易弄又不健康的东西，妹不屑的东西XD。带了家里吃剩的两小片去hydrexia rasuah人，却让我从此多了一个lab的帮手，真好rasuah呀 O_O 是纯属巧合啦~ 那独占了短短6天的lab，不再是我专属的咯~ 只是，看来这周末真的该bake点什么去安抚人心了，呵呵~

on that note, we got to odawara 小田原, where we split and ally went east back to shinjuku in tokyo, while i continue my journey to heian city 平安京 kyoto. as ally called it, 各奔东西 ne~ ^_^ the post should stop here as a token of thx to her as a wonderful kaki :)

this was building 54 in the Uni of Queensland which was my flooded lab.
irony intended when my boss took the pic :P


as the bull dozer in the picture suggest, it is being demolished.
you can even see the brisbane river in this picture, the blank space between the planks just under the "sustainable energy research group" sign, which gives an idea of how vulnerable it was when the flood came.

oh well, life goes on and lets continue to flood this blog with pics from another disaster hit country north of this one~

i am to say that the museum is such a gem. with mr. hayao miyazaki himself as curator, and probably designer, every single inch of the museum oozes out the ghibli theme. of nature, of imagination, strangeness, of beauty. apart from the exhibitions, which included original drafts, paints, mechanical displays, film displays etc, the construction of the building itself, with a european touch with its stained glass windows and attention to intricate details, was also a joy to admire. highly recommended to anyone who is going to visit tokyo :) cameras and video recorders are prohibited in the museum.

it wasn't until i came back to brisbane that i realise i'm not the only person fooled by the "north side south" map in shinjuku station ^_^ ling, who had obtained a human GPS status much earlier than myself, as we used call her "bandaraya" for her uncanny ability to know the kuala lumpur city as if she'd planned the very layout of it, was deceived by this very same map.

after about 45min's walking in the rain, ally and i found omoideyokocho. which is also called the "piss alley", a place famous for the izakayas and for the people who came after work, who consumed what's inside, then relief them outside.

it was refreshing to see how the bus stops in hakone are named after the businesses around the stops. imagine there's a bus stop in front of my dad's shop called "depan guan fatt motor", hm... at least gf motor has been there for 40+ years and they wouldn't need to change the stop's name for a while.
